Triumphal procession of Titus over the Jews. In 70 AD, he besieged and captured Jerusalem, and destroyed the city and the Second Temple. For this achievement Titus was awarded a triumph; the Arch of Titus commemorates his victory to this day. The destruction of both the first and second temples is still mourned annually as the Jewish fast Tisha B'Av. Woodcut engraving, published in 1864.
