COP29 UNFCCC Climate Conference In Baku

BAKU, AZERBAIJAN - NOVEMBER 22: An activist wears a t-shirt that reads: "No More Fossil Fuels" and holds a sign showing 1.5 degrees Celsius on day eleven at the UNFCCC COP29 Climate Conference on November 22, 2024 in Baku, Azerbaijan. While today is scheduled to be the last day of the COP29, party delegates from numerous countries have voiced strong disappointment over the preliminary text of the final agreement, which will very likely send the conference into overtime. The COP29 is bringing together stakeholders, including international heads of state and other leaders, country delegations, scientists, environmentalists, indigenous peoples representatives, activists and others to discuss and agree on the implementation of global measures towards mitigating the effects of climate change. According to the United Nations, countries made no progress over the last year in reducing global emissions from the burning of fossil fuels. (Photo by Sean Gallup/Getty Images)
