Iraqi Workers Lay Telephone Lines In Baghdad
BAGHDAD, IRAQ - OCTOBER 21: An Iraqi worker with the Iraqi Telephone and Postal Company (ITPC) works at the Telephone Exchange center October 21, 2003 in Baghdad, Iraq. After the bombing of the telecommunications building, looters took all of the valuables that remained including the underground cables. Bechtel Corporation is running the telecommunications reconstruction operation which started in late June in Iraq and is part of the USAID-Bechtel Iraq Infrastructure Reconstruction program for Humanitarian Aid. By mid-November around 30,000 telephone lines will be in operation in four major areas of the capital city. (Photo by Paula Bronstein/Getty Images)
