Boozy Milkman
1955: Bottles of milk and 'Noggo', an alcoholic concoction of milk and hibiscus-honey being delivered by a milkman. The milkshake is the brainchild of Mrs Poppy Laidlaw, owner of Mortlock's Dairies of Ilford, London. Mrs Laidlaw, whose dairy is the first to be granted an alcoholic license, considers milk to be 'dull, uninteresting stuff', and hopes that Noggo will boost sales by 50%.
