Queen Mother Elizabeth Walking Through a Guard of Honor
(Original Caption) Britain's Queen Mother Elizabeth walks through a guard of honor formed by former Buckingham Palace guards as she arrives at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel tonight for a reception and dinner tendered by the English speaking union. Visible behind the Queen Mother is Sir Roger Makins, British ambassador to the U.S. The honor guard, consisting of men attached to the royal guard at Buckingham Palace during the reign of King George VI, are now organized as "the Household Brigades Comrades Association of North America."
