DENVER, CO – MARCH 20: Denver Nuggets Head Coach Larry Brown gives instructions to his team during a timeout in an NBA basketball game against the Detroit Pistons at McNichols Arena on March 20, 1977 in Denver, Colorado. Brown played professional basketball for six years in the ABA, including one season for the Denver Rockets (1971-’72). He began coaching in 1965 and was Head Coach of the Nuggets for five and a half seasons, beginning in 1974. During his 56-year career he coached NBA teams as well as NCAA college teams, winning national championships at both levels. He also coached the U.S. Olympic team in 2004.
