A heart removed from an animal is placed in a glass globe submerged in water at body temperature; Glass and rubber tubes become veins and arteries; Two large cylinders represent lungs. Blood is pumped through the system and carbon dioxide is removed and oxygen absorbed in the "lungs." The heart can be kept beating for hours while Dr. Lorber studies the chemical changes and other factors of heart failure.
