NETHERLANDS-EU-VOTE
Dutch far-right Party for Freedom (PVV) leader Geert Wilders fills his ballot in the The Hague city hall on June 4, 2009 during the European Parliament elections. Alongside Britain, the Netherlands is voting first in polls across the 27-member EU ending on June 7. Nearly 13 million voters are registered to elect 25 Dutch deputies out of 736 on the EU parliament, from 289 candidates on 17 party lists. The Netherlands will release provisional results after the close of voting on June 4, even as most other member countries withhold theirs until the EU-sanctioned hour of 2000 GMT on June 7.
