ME/MOVIE 8/31/01 LEXINGTON, VA BY: MARGARET THOMAS TWP Filming began this week in Lexington, Va on a new Civil War movie, "Gods and Generals." Venues for the first day of shooting were set on the campuses of the Virginia Military Institute and neighboring Washington and Lee University. In a rapid fore-shortening of time, Stonewall Jackson left VMI to fight in one scene, and returned in a coffin three hours later. Extras included a number of Civil War reenactors who traveled as far as Michigan and Massachussets to play bit parts in the movie. Surrounded by extras, cast members Rosemary Meachan orange turban, Kali Rocha (who plays Ann Jackson), and Scott Cooper(bowler hat) play a scene.
