Flake Tool, Middle Paleolithic, ca. 90,000–35,000 B.C., From Egypt, Western Desert; Kharga Oasis, Beledeh District, W and NW of Christian necropolis, surface find, 1908–10, Flint, H. 7 x W. 5.4 x Th. 1.7 cm (2 3/4 x 2 1/8 x 11/16 in.), This tool was created from a flake knocked off from a larger core. There are no obvious signs of working, but one side (lower edge in photograph) appears to have been used, perhaps as a scraper.
