President Bill Clinton Visits Rwanda and Uganda

NYOMERO, UGANDA - JULY 20: Former President Bill Clinton speaks to her daughter Chelsea (center) while attending a class on July 20, 2012, at the Building Tomorrow Academy in Nyomero, Uganda, during a recent tour of Africa. The tour gave Mr. Clinton, Chelsea, and a handful of donors and aides who have worked for or given money to the Clintons since their Little Rock, Ark. and White House years, a first-hand look at the philanthropic work of the Clinton Foundation. But it also gave Mr. Clinton the chance to burnish his legacy and come full circle on things he started as president; something the 65-year-old talks a lot about lately. Although his foundation has 1,300 employees and volunteers and works in 50 countries, nowhere is Mr. Clinton's desire to right some of the wrongs of his presidency and proselytize Brand Clinton more evident than here. From the Rwandan genocide and the AIDS epidemic to famine and war in Somalia, the bombing of a United States Embassy in Nairobi and related missile strikes on al Qaeda in Sudan, the continent stands out as a source of conflict and regret for Mr. Clinton.
