BRAZIL-AIR-ACCIDENT
A French-made ATR 72-500 aircraft operated by Voepass airline takes off at Guarulhos airport in Guarulhos, Sao Paulo State, Brazil, on August 13, 2024. Sixty-two people died on August 9 when their ATR 72-500 plane operated by airline Voepass tumbled from the sky, as experts began examining the doomed aircraft's black boxes to determine the cause of the disaster. The ATR 72-500 fell in a sickening downward spin before it crashed into a residential area in the town of Vinhedo, some 80 km northwest of Brazil's financial capital Sao Paulo.
