TOKYO, JAPAN - 2004/12/01: Girls taking a break from their fashion dress-up parade in Harajuku District, Tokyo - a phenomenon that takes place every Sunday. Even cosplay aficionados are human. These girls are taking a break from the hard work of deciding what to wear, fending off the competition for the most outlandish costume, and strutting their stuff up and down Omotesando Street - Harajuku's "Champs Elysees". Though many Japanese suspect that cosplay kids are 'wannabe' models, especially since the majority of cosplay displays are in Harajuku - Tokyo's fashion district, most of these kids are from the countryside and are just coming into Tokyo for a lark. You can see them retrieving their mundane everyday clothes in nearby railway station coin lockers after a long day on the catwalk of Omotesando Street.. (Photo by John S.
