Moise Tshombe Turns Away During Speech

(Original Caption) 1/13/1963-Kolwezi,Katagna,The Congo-Katagna Pres. Moise Tshombe appears to turn away from his audience to regain his composure at this point in his "finale" speech at the Kolwezi Market Place.A crowd of 5,000 gathered to hear him speak,including 2,500 armed gendarmes and troops.Later,the U.N. troops entered the town without incident,the Tshombe soldiers surrendering their weapons peacefully to the UN as orderd by Tshombe.In his speech,Tshombe thanked his men for their loyalty to him during the period of secessionist activity.
