(Original Caption) 9/7/1959-Los Angeles, CA: Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Sandy Koufax (r) strikes out Cal Neeman (#11) of the Chicago Cubs in the first game of a doubleheader here Sept. 6. Others in the photo are unidentified. The strikeout gave Koufax a Major League record of 41 in three consecutive games. His fine pitching performance was wrecked in the ninth inning when Ernie Banks hit a three-run homer and the Cubs won, 3-0.
