State inspectors say that AllenCo has not complied with previous requests for these site inspections. The California Department of Conservation, Geologic Energy Management Division (CalGEM) served a search warrant at the Allen Co. drill site on Monday, March 28, 2022, to perform an inspection of the site. The site operators were ordered to decommission the site in 2020 after it became clear that it was in disrepair.For years, the site gave off noxious odors that made residents sick.
