Mansour Farhang

Mansour Farhang (shown at press conference at UN in November, 1979) was sent to the United Nations as ambassador by the Iranian Revolutionary regime December 13, 1979, reports the NY Daily News, December 14, 1979. UN officials welcomed the move, saying it would facilitate negotiations for the release of the 50 hostages in the US Embassy. Farhang is a professor of government at Calif. State University in Sacramento. UN spokesman said the Iranian Mission informed Secy. Gen. Waldheim that Farhang would be both Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN.
