05_16_04_ CO-GOLDEN, CO-National Transportation Safety Board officials (NTSB) <cq>, Colorado Department of Transportation <cq> CDOT <cq> and Jefferson County Sheriff's Office officals returned to the scene of the girder collapse at a bridge construction project on C-470 over Interstate 70 <cq> to begin their investigation into what happened the day before. A 40 ton girder from the project collapsed onto I-70 Saturday morning around 10 am <cq> crushing a sport utility vehicle and killing all three occupants inside the car <cq>. The girder, measuring 100 feet long <cq>, was placed Tuesday night on C-470, dropped onto the eastbound lane.
