Island Natives Playing Cards in Makeshift Hut
(Original Caption) Rongerik Island: Natives Make Contribution To Atom Bomb Tests, Transfer From Bikini To Rongerik Atoll. As their contribution to the success of peacetime atomic bomb tests--the first against Naval targets--the natives of bikini Atoll, in the Marshall Islands, have moved to a new home on Rongerik Atoll--some 150 miles away. The new atoll previously had been explored by Chief Juda and the 11 heads of families who compose his council. A SeaBee construction party is speeding construction of a model village of the Pacific. Natives obviously enjoy playing cards, in an atoll home.
