SHREVEPORT/BOSSIER CITY--Patrons of the new Louisiana Boardwalk in Bossier City, opened only a month earlier, enjoy an early summer evening overlooking the Red River. The Boardwalk is a 550,000 square-foot outlet shopping, dining, and entertainment venue which revived the waterfront area overlooking the river and downtown Shreveport near five casinos shared between the two cities. (The Horseshoe Casino is in the background.) The Boardwalk is a joint venture between StoneBridge Golf Course and Subdivision developer John Good Jr., and O&S Holdings, a privately-held company. O&S Holdings was founded by cousins Gary Safady and Paul Orfalea, founder and chairman of Kinko's. The Bossier City/Shreveport area is the fifth most popular gaming destination in the United States, with over 16 million gaming visitations annually.
