(Original Caption) Something New under the Sun. Venice, California: Novel new beach bridge tables introduced in Southern California. The new table stands on one leg which is driven into the sand. Its top is equipped with rubber straps so that the dummy and the individual tricks as played in the center or folded on the side are held down and prevented from blowing. The top revolves so that the four straps for holding down the dummy can be turned in front of the proper player. Players using one of the new tables at the exclusive Westport Beach Club at Venice, California. They are Miss Bernadine Culver, Dick Wilcox, Will Hammond, and Lorna Sale. Miss Germaine Mitchel is the pretty kibitzer under the umbrella.
