St. Panteleimon Monastery in Mount Athos
St. Panteleimon Monastery or as it widely known the "Russian or Rossikon" monastery in Mount Athos. Built in 11th century and hosting at its peak more than 2000 in 1913. Today there are about 70 Russian and Ukrainian monks. It is one of the most impressive monasteries in Agion Oros mostly for its size and the green roofs and domes. The monastery and the hole peninsula of Mount Athos is listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site. The location of the Mount Athos is in Northern Greece in Chalkidiki.
