He was the only passenger to make it to a hospital. The boy, who was traveling on his own, was flung out of the wreckage into a snowbank, which put out the fire consuming his clothes. Several first-day articles hailed the miracle of his survival. But he was been burned over 80 percent of his body and his lungs were seared.
