Casey Stengel Holding His Baseball Uniform
(Original Caption) Still celebrating his 80th birthday, Casey Stengel is given his old New York Yankee uniform by Whitey Ford, (C), and Yogi Berra as his famous number 37 was retired during Old timers' Day ceremonies at Yankee Stadium. The only other numbers set aside by the Yanks were Babe Ruth's #3, Lou Gehrig's #4, Joe DiMaggio's #5, and Mickey Mantle's #7. Ford and Berra played longest for Stengel while he was manager of the Yankees.
