Garden Ice Becomes Rangers-Hawks Battleground

The New York rangers and the Chicago Blackhawks brought a little extra action to the Madison Square Garden ice here tonight with a running battle which culminated in a second round free-for-all. Here, watching their embattled teammates roll on the ice, Goalie Lopresti, of Chicago, and, (in the rear), Goalie Kerr of the Rangers, follow the proceedings with a greater display of calmness than was shown by 10,000 hugely entertained spectators in the stands. On the ice, Art Coulter, of the Rangers, and Cooper, of the Hawks, roll over and over, while, off to the right, referee Bill Stewart separates M. Patrick, (left), of the Rangers, and Mariucci, of Chicago. Coulter and Cooper drew major penalties for their share of the disturbance. The Hawks won the hockey game.
