ROM curatorial staff artifacts
TORONTO, ON - MARCH 18: Tim Dickinson - Adam Whiteâÿæ¬â¢s Primula magellanica specimen was collected by J. D. Hooker when H.M.S. Erebus and H.M.S. Terror visited the Falkland Islands in the course of their 1839-1843 Antarctic Expedition. It is one of my favorites because this Primula specimen provides a narrative connection between museum collections and the botanists and explorers who collected the specimens and the remote places where they did so, often under conditions of great hardship.
