Bob Grim and Ed Ford Sitting on Steps
(Original Caption) Two younger members of the New York Yankee mound corps sit on the steps of the dug-out in Yankee Stadium prior to the August 12th twin-bill with the A's, discussing trade secrets, if any. Bob Grim (right), who has pitched his way to fifteen victories in his debut season, shows a grinning Ed "Whitey" Ford, one of his favorite grips, an enemy bat-throttler. Ford, while listening to Grim's tales, indicates something or other with his pitching hand. Both are graduates of sand-lot ball.
