Alhambra Palace and fortress complex is an example for many handicrafts, such as mosaic and ceramic glaze being in the first place it is also a good example for stone and wood carving. Alhambra Palace's construction first began in 1232 and then it was renovated and rebuilt in the mid-13th century by the Nasrid Emir Mohammed Ben Al-Ahmar also known as Muhammad I of Granada. Alhambra was extended by the different rulers who lived in the complex. In Arabic, Alhambra means 'The Red One', gets its name from the red colored clay soil used in the construction.
