View of visitors of Khor Virab Monastery in Armenia: Mount Ararat
YEREVAN, ARMENIA - FEBRUARY 06: A view of Khor Virab Monastery in Yerevan, Armenia on February 06, 2022. Khor Virap Monastery, located on a small hill in the village of Pokr Vedi on the Armenian side of the Igdir Plain, draws attention with its importance for Christianity and the view of Agri and Kucukagri mountains. It is believed that Saint Gregory the Illuminator, who played an important role in the Christianization of the country and is considered the founder of the Armenian Apostolic Church, was imprisoned and performed various miracles in the monastery, 30 kilometers from Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. After the Aras River, which separates the two countries from the monastery, the Ararat district of Igdir, its villages, Agri Mountain and Kucukagri Mountain can also be seen.
