LGBTQ+ Pride Flag - stock photo

The LGBT+ Pride Flag, also known as the Rainbow Flag, originated in San Francisco in 1978 when Harvey Milk, the first outed gay man to hold public office in the United States, commissioned Gilbert Baker to design a positive symbol for the queer community. Each color has a meaning: Pink for sexuality, red for life, orange for healing, yellow for the sun, green for nature, turquoise for art, blue for harmony and purple for spirituality.
