The mine is a modern facility located in the village of Goderich adjacent to the centre of town on the Maitland River. The photograph depicts the aboveground, extraction, salt handling and storage facilities of the mine. The Sifto Goderich salt mine produces a significant percentage of Canada's total salt production.
