Ana María Estrada defends that Peru will always support Patricia as the woman who should be at Mario Vargas Llosa's side: "we are conservatives and it seems to me that Mrs. Preysler is a beautiful woman, I imagine that any man falls at her feet. She has its beauty but the partner is the life partner, who is the one who has fought with you, the one who has washed your pants and has cooked for you and has done everything for you. So, she deserves respect and dedication." She believes that the whole country admired and envied Mario Vargas Llosa for having fallen in love at such an advanced age: "many friends of mine applauded that he fell in love again at his age, that he had an illusion. We women who are married hated, we hated him but men of a certain age said 'how wonderful to fall in love again at this age'". He defends that the Nobel Prize winner for literature would be a good president of Peru: "he is a person who has a lot of love for his country and he always says so. Out of love for Peru, I think he could definitely be a good president because I c roque there would be no ignoramuses in the whole country. He would send books everywhere, to every hill, to every place." Although he acknowledges that he has people against him: "he has his people because for a time he had somewhat revolutionary ideas. All those people loved him and then they changed. The people who hated him now love him and the people who loved him before, now he hates it." She knows him personally and remembers how she saw him when she was still a girl: "Mario is a theater lover. I have been doing theater since I was nine years old in Peru and I met him in the seventies, when I was still a girl. He used to go to the theater and you always saw him and you always saw him very serious and very nice. He is a visionary speaking. With him you have to be quiet and listen and absorb everything he tells you".
