Black Tip Reef Shark (Carcharhinus melanopterus) swimming close up - stock video

Here we see several Black Tip Reef Sharks (Carcharhinus melanopterus) swimming close up. These are Elasmobranch, classed as ‘Near Threatened’ in the wild, on the IUCN red list, due to being hunted mainly for their fins. Despite the fearsome reputation of sharks, this species are in reality peaceful, gentle creatures that pose no threat to people. Here we see a display of their natural behaviour as they swim over the reef. This footage was taken whilst scuba diving at Phi Phi Islands, Krabi, Thailand.
