Bundestag Votes On Changes To Basic Law

BERLIN, GERMANY - MARCH 18: A digital display board says that the roll call vote is currently taking place at the Bundestag over a bill that will make changes to Germany's Basic Law on March 18, 2025 in Berlin, Germany. The changes will facilitate a loosening of restrictions on debt limits for the federal government as well as large-scale defence spending. Parliamentarians will also vote on a EUR 500 billion investment fund into infrastructure. The measures are proposed by the Christian Democrats (CDU/CSU) and Social Democrats (SPD), who are in negotiations to create the next federal coalition government, with the support of the Greens Party.
