Handler Feeds Primates In Forest Habitat In Indonesia
NORTH SUMATRA, INDONESIA - OCTOBER 09: Handler Rahman Manik blows into a buffalo horn and calls out to summon primates from deep in the forest to feed in Simalungun on October 9, 2021 in North Sumatra, Indonesia. Monkey Forest Sibaganding is a protected forest on the outskirts of Lake Toba and is a habitat for monkeys, beruk and gibbons. Taking over after his father, Manik tries to feed the primates every day, but they still ask for food from motorists who pass on the highway. According to Manik, if there is sufficient food in the forest and he has the funds to purchase fruit, these primates will not beg and die on the streets. (Footage by Albert Damanik/Getty Images)
