AKITA, JAPAN – MAY 30: Major festivals from each of the six northeastern Japan prefectures were jointly held in the city of Akita, with a hope of promoting the reconstruction of the March 2011 disaster-hit regions. They included the Dummy Float Festival, or Nebuta, and the Star Festival, or Tanabata. The two-day joint festival, which started in Sendai in 2011, attracted 260,000 people, and it will be held in Aomori next year.
