Bill Pascrell on GOP Denying Budget Hearing

New Jersey Congressman Bill Pascrell argues against a bill on the floor that would require a report by the Treasury Secretary in advance of reaching the statutory debt limit. Noting that days before President Obama submitted his last budget to Congress for fiscal 2017, republicans in Congress have refused to hold hearings on the budget with the Director of Office of Management and Budget, the first time in 40 years that a President's budget will not be granted a hearing. Pascrell says that instead the House brings legislation to require the administration to submit deficit reduction proposals and testify about that, saying something does not add up here, that the bill would require a report to Congress on things the Congress is most equipped to know.
