SOTs: the black man in the red hat is Nicholas Heyward Sr., whose son was killed by NYPD 21 years ago; the white bearded man is Travis Morales from the group Stop Mass Incarceration. Ex-NYPD Officer Peter Liang, who shot and killed Akai Gurley on Nov 20th 2014, was found guilty of man slaughter and his partner, Sean Landau, was fired. The sentencing is April 14th and it's possible Liang could just get probation, according to supporters who attended the trial.
