Turkey launches nationwide program to prevent coronavirus spread

ANKARA, ISTANBUL, IZMIR, ANTALYA, TURKEY - AUGUST 06: Turkey conducted nationwide coronavirus inspections on August 06, 2020 to ensure people are complying with restrictions in force to slow the spread of the contagion. Daily coronavirus cases in the country rose to more than 1000 infections for the first time in three weeks on Tuesday. Turkey's Interior Ministry Suleyman Soylu joined an inspections team in Ankara as they checked restrictions were being followed. “Approximately 250 thousand officers participated in the inspection today. A large part of these teams will continue to inspect weddings and engagements on Saturday and Sunday,” Soylu said A government circular sais committees will be established by the deputy governors and district governors in all cities to trace the spread of the virus and monitor the changes in the number of patients and those in serious conditions as well as those in isolation. The circular underlines the need to wear a mask, keeping social distancing and hygiene as the most important measures particularly in social events like weddings, funerals and other large gatherings.
