WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange released from prison on bail: Mark Stephens press conference

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange released from prison on bail: Mark Stephens press conference; Mark Stephens (Julian Assange's lawyer) speaking to press as standing next Jennifer Robinson SOT *** some shaky camera **** - We're here today at the instance of the Swedish govt / We're aware that the Swedes have denied they've asked for an appeal & that the Director of Public Prosecutions Keir Starmer has said that all that the Crown Prosecution Service is doing is the bidding of the Swedish government / Today's hearing is entirely a matter for the judge, as far as we're concerned apart from who it was that gave the instructions to appeal, there have been no changes in the circumstances / It appears that the arguments are going to be very much the same arguments that were heard earlier this week / So we are hopeful but it's a matter entirely for the judge / Nothing has changed with regard to the conditions - we believe we will have the money today / We certainly have pledges from people who stood behind him on previous occasions, they've all come forward and arranged their financial affairs to suport him / I'm about to go in and see Julian and I hope I'll have a chance to talk to him about today's hearing / Conditions [in Wandsworth Prison] haven't changed and I remain concerned about them and I think it is unfortunate that somebody who on my advice wouldn't go to jail is being held effectively on a punishment regime in what are utterly Victorian conditions / Thank you very much / Stephens and Robinson away
